Meet Chef Dom

We are thrilled to introduce Executive Chef Dominico Booker, the creative force behind 1928 Provisions. Chef Dominico began his culinary journey in San Francisco, honing his craft in the kitchen of the Michelin-starred restaurant Sons & Daughters before becoming Head Chef at its sister restaurant, Sweet Woodruff in Lower Nob Hill. Immersed in the city’s vibrant, diverse food culture, he developed his signature style—an inspired blend of classic French and Italian techniques infused with a touch of Southern comfort.

 

Returning to his hometown of Dana Point in 2016, Chef Dominico brought his expertise to the Orange County food scene, earning acclaim with his first brick-and-mortar venture, Santa Ana Brunch Club. Now, as Executive Chef of 1928 Provisions, he and his talented team invite you to savor an unforgettable culinary experience at Agápe 1928—where every dish is crafted with passion, precision, and a deep love for connection through food.

Meet Sous Chef Mateo

Chef Mateo’s culinary journey is deeply rooted in family traditions and his heritage in Mexico. From childhood memories of cooking alongside his brother to learning the art of Michoacán carnitas from his uncle, his passion for food began with the vibrant flavors and aromas of home.

Refining his skills at Taco Maria under Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Salgado, Mateo honed his craft and developed a profound love for ingredients, techniques, and the connections formed in the kitchen. Today, he brings that same passion and expertise to every dish, creating unforgettable culinary experiences.
