WELCOME TO AGAPE 1928
,
A HISTORICAL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WEDDING VENUE
If you’re here, you're probably in search of an idyllic indoor/outdoor venue to say “I Do” and dance the night away.
Inspirational photos might have you dreaming big, and we see the pressure on brides today to have beautiful photos to 'share' after the wedding on social media. No one means to play the comparison game, but sometimes not doing so is hard.
Agāpe 1928 is the venue you didn’t think you would find. The one that’s both awe-inspiring and the perfect location. Have we piqued your interest?

“The team at Agāpe 1928 has been so professional. I feel like they really do care about our family and our special day. I would recommend them over and over to anyone."
— TIFFANY | SAN CLEMENTE
“Agāpe 1928 is more than a wedding venue, it a magical place with a historical vibe that transports you back to the 1930's spanish village by the sea. What a wonderful backdrop to our wedding."
— BEVERLI | LOS ANGLES
“From the moment I walked through the cast iron gates, I knew this was the place. Just about a block from the ocean, it was the perfect setting for my beach themed wedding."
— LAUREN | LA JOLLA

Built in 1928, Agāpe is on the California historical registry. It originally opened as the Big Bear Cafe where John Wayne and Marlene Dietrich would grab a sandwich before heading to the beach. Then later becoming an art supply store where David Hockney was known to purchase his paints.
